Copyrights, Trademarks and Trade Secrets
Howard’s Intellectual Property law practice and educational endeavors extend beyond patents, and also extend to preparing and prosecuting copyright and trademark applications and counseling clients in creating effective protection of trade secrets. He has also represented clients in copyright, trademark and trade secret litigation in both Federal and State court venues.
As an example, Howard has advised clients on the effective protection of software applications, which, in many instances, are protectable under both the U.S. Patent Laws and the U.S. Copyright Laws. In addition, he has assisted numerous clients in determining if a certain trademark, service mark or logo is available for adoption and use without infringing another mark.
As a member of the Trial Bar of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, Howard has also been involved in numerous litigation matters involving copyrights, trademarks and trade secrets over the years and continues to do so to the present.
